Professor Jong-Ho Lee received a honorable award by Korean prime minister in October 2011.

In October 2011, Professor Jong-Ho Lee was recognized by Korean government with his invention of the 3-diemsional (3D) Bulk FinFET technology. The 3D Bulk FinFET technology enabled nano-scaled 3D transistor devices to be integrated on bulk silicon wafers instead of on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafers. Professor Lee's technology made significant impact on global semiconductor industry and it is now the mainstream technology welcomed by all global semiconductor leaders such as Intel, Samsung Electronics, TSMC, and so on. The prime minister of Korean government recognized Professor's Lee's work on the 3D Bulk FinFET technologies and awarded him on the Day of Semicondoctor in year 2011
